OUR STORY

The inaugural Queer Faith Festival in Lafayette took place on Saturday, June 14, 2025 (Flag Day), at St. Anselm’s Episcopal Church. This LGBTQ+ interfaith event in Contra Costa County brought together local faith communities, artists, LGBTQ+ leaders, and neighbors in a powerful, community-driven response to acts of hate, including repeated thefts of Pride flags at places of worship.

Rather than responding with fear, the Queer Faith Festival was created to build a joyful, inclusive, and resilient community space. The festival supports LGBTQ+ people of faith and allies, fosters connection across diverse religious traditions, and celebrates shared values of justice, love, and compassion.

Today, the Queer Faith Festival in Contra Costa County continues to connect queer people of all faiths and backgrounds, highlighting the many affirming, inclusive, and welcoming places of worship throughout the region and reminding those who feel excluded that they are not alone.
